VIOFO MT1 User Manual & Troubleshooting Guide
VIOFO MT1 acting up? Lost the booklet? No stress.
So you've got the VIOFO MT1 dual-channel setup on your bike, but you're scratching your head over what that blinking blue light means. Since this unit doesn't have a screen, understanding the remote control indicators and the app is critical. We've gathered the official manual, the wiring cheat sheet, and the common fixes to get you back on the road capturing crisp 1080p footage.
💡 Pro Tip: The Vibration Killer
Motorcycles vibrate. A lot. Standard SD cards often fail quickly in these conditions, leading to corrupted footage right when you need it. We strictly recommend using a High Endurance card designed for dash cams.

Remote Control & LED Indicators
Because the main unit is tucked away under your seat, your Remote Control is your main status checker. Here is what the lights are telling you:
| LED Indicator | Status / Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solid Red | System is Normal. Recording in Loop Mode. |
| Quick Flashing Red | Emergency Recording. You pressed the big button (Manual Lock) or the G-Sensor was triggered. |
| Solid Blue | Wi-Fi is ON and Connected to your phone. |
| Flashing Blue | Wi-Fi is ON but waiting for a connection. |
| No Lights | Unit is off. Check your ignition and the Yellow/Blue ACC wire connection. |
Aussie Expert FAQ: Common VIOFO MT1 Questions
1. Which wire goes where? (Don't fry it!)
Getting the hardwire kit wrong is the most common drama we see. For the MT1, the color coding is usually:
Red: Battery Positive (+) (Constant Power)
Black: Ground (-)
Blue (sometimes Yellow): ACC (Switched Power/Ignition).
Note: The Blue wire tells the camera when the bike is on. If you connect this to constant power, the camera will never turn off and drain your battery.
2. What is the Wi-Fi Password?
By default, the Wi-Fi password for the VIOFO MT1 is 12345678. To turn on the Wi-Fi, short-press the small button on the remote control until the blue light starts flashing.
3. Why is it not recording (or beeping)?
90% of the time, this is an SD card issue. Because there is no screen to show you the "Format SD" error, it just stops or beeps. Connect to the VIOFO App on your phone and format the card inside the Settings menu. If it keeps happening, your card might be cooked—replace it with a High Endurance one.
