The Dash Cam Guys Promise

We’re here to be fair, fast, and reasonable. We look after good customers, and we’re upfront about where the line is.
This policy sits alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing here limits or excludes those rights.


1. Change-of-Mind Returns (30 Days)

Ordered the wrong model? Changed your mind? No dramas. You have 30 days from delivery to return an item for a refund or exchange, provided it is in as-new condition.

What "as-new" means:

  • Never permanently installed.
  • No scratches, dents, or signs of wear.
  • All accessories, manuals, and packaging included.

The "Fair Go" Policy (Used Consumables)
We understand some installs need a test-fit. If the camera itself is in perfect condition but you have used the adhesive mounts, peeled screen protectors, or used cable ties...

We will still accept the return (most stores won’t!). However, because the unit is no longer "as-new," we will deduct a Restocking Fee of 10% from your refund. This fee covers both labour and the cost of the replacement accessory kit required to make the unit sellable again.

Change-of-Mind Refund Costs

  • Return Shipping: You are responsible for the cost of posting the item back to us.

What we CANNOT accept for Change of Mind:

  • Items with physical damage or wear.
  • Opened MicroSD cards (we can't resell these due to data privacy and reliability guarantees).
  • Products missing parts that cannot be bought separately.

2. Faulty, Damaged, or DOA Items (ACL)

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If something isn’t right, we’ll sort it.

  • Major Faults / Dead on Arrival: (e.g., Camera won't power on, dead sensor, purple lines in footage).
    • We cover return shipping.
    • You choose the remedy: Full refund, replacement, or store credit.
  • Minor Faults: (e.g., A loose mount clip, dodgy cable, or software glitch).
    • We will repair or replace the item (or the specific part) free of charge.
    • If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we will offer a refund.

3. Manufacturer Warranty

All products include a manufacturer warranty (typically 12–24 months). This sits in addition to your ACL rights.

Top Tip: Many brands offer free warranty extensions when you register your product online. We highly recommend doing this immediately after purchase!

Service Note: If you have a fault, please email gday@dashcamguys.com.au before contacting the manufacturer.

Why? Manufacturers often make customers pay for return shipping. When you claim through us under Australian Law, we cover the costs for valid major warranty claims.


4. The "No Fault Found" Procedure

Dash cams are technical. Many "faults" are actually setup issues (e.g., incompatible SD cards or incorrect wiring). We bench-test every return thoroughly.

If you return a product claiming it is faulty, but our technicians find it works perfectly:

  • We won't charge you a labour fee: We are happy to test it for you to give you peace of mind.
  • Return Shipping: However, because the unit is not faulty, we cannot cover the postage costs. You will need to cover the shipping cost to have the unit returned to you.

Top Tip: Please check your SD card and power connections before sending a unit back - this solves 90% of issues!


5. How to Start a Return

  • Email Us: Send your Order Number and a description of the issue to gday@dashcamguys.com.au.
  • Troubleshoot: If it's technical, we might ask you to try one quick step (this often fixes it instantly!).
  • Approval: We’ll send you a Return Approval ID and our Melbourne address.
  • Ship It: Post it back. Please write the Approval ID on the parcel.

Refund Timing: Once your return arrives and is inspected, refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 10 days.
