Vantrue Falcon 1 (F1) User Manual & Troubleshooting Guide

Vantrue Falcon 1 acting up? Lost the booklet? No stress.

Welcome to your digital cheat sheet for the Vantrue F1. Whether you're mid-ride and need to know what that flashing red light means, or you're just trying to get the wiring sorted in the garage, we've got you covered. No corporate waffle here- just the facts to get your dash cam recording properly so you can get back on the bike.

PRO TIP: Don't Kill Your Card!
The Vantrue F1 records in 4K, which puts a massive strain on standard SD cards. If you're seeing frequent "Card Error" messages or the camera stops recording randomly, your card is likely cooked. We strictly recommend using a specialised High Endurance card for motorcycle cams.

Common Questions (Sorted)

1. What is the default Wi-Fi password?
The default Wi-Fi name usually looks like F1_VANTRUE_XXXX and the password is 12345678. If that doesn't work, someone might have changed it - try the 5-click reset on the Mic button to reset it.

2. How do I hardwire this properly?
The Vantrue F1 comes with a 3-wire hardwire kit. Here is the standard hookup:
- Red Wire: Connects to the Positive (+) Battery Terminal (Always Power).
- Yellow Wire (ACC): Connects to a switched fuse (only on when ignition is on, like your tail light or accessory fuse).
- Black Wire: Ground (Negative terminal or a bare metal chassis bolt).

3. Why does my camera keep saying "Card Error"?
This is classic. It usually means the card format is wrong or the card is too slow. First, try holding the Record Button on the remote for 10 seconds to format it inside the camera. If that fails, your card might not be U3 rated. Grab a High-Endurance one (see the Pro Tip above).
