Vantrue N5 User Manual & Troubleshooting Guide

Vantrue N5 acting up? Lost the booklet? No stress.

So, you've grabbed yourself the beastly 4-channel Vantrue N5, but now it's flashing lights at you or you've misplaced the manual in the glovebox abyss. No worries. We've chucked together the official digital manual, a quick cheat sheet for those pesky error codes, and the pro tips you need to keep it recording 360-degree protection.

💡 Pro Tip: Unlock 24/7 Parking Mode

To get the most out of the N5's 4-channel parking surveillance, you can't just plug it into the ciggie lighter. You need a constant power source.

We recommend the Vantrue 5-Level Adjustable Hardwire Kit. It protects your car battery from draining while keeping an eye on your rig overnight.

Feature / Issue Status / Solution
Green Light (Blinking) Camera is Recording. This is what you want to see.
Green Light (Steady) Camera is in Standby and NOT recording. Check your SD card or press the REC button.
"Card Error" Message The SD card needs formatting or is too slow. Use a U3 / Class 10 / A2 card (Vantrue or Samsung Pro Endurance recommended). Format via the menu immediately.
Voice Commands Hands-free triggers: "Take Photo", "Turn On Audio", "Turn Off Screen", "Lock The Video".
Hardwire Cut-Off If hardwiring, set the voltage cut-off to 12V (or 12.2V) to ensure your car starts in the morning. 11.6V is often too low for modern Aussie cars.

Common Questions (FAQ)

1. Why isn't my Parking Mode working?
Standard out of the box, the N5 won't record when the car is off. You need a 3-wire ACC Hardwire Kit installed. Once that's in, go to the menu and enable "Collision Detection" or "Motion Detection". If it's still not working, check your yellow ACC wire connection.

2. My rear camera isn't showing up?
Check the cable connection at the main unit. It needs a firm click. Also, make sure you're using the original Vantrue cable - generic USB-C cables won't carry the data properly. If it's still dead, give the firmware an update via the Vantrue app (Android or iOS).

3. How big of an SD card can I use?
The N5 supports up to 512GB (some users have luck with 1TB, but 512GB is the safe bet). Just make sure it's a "High Endurance" card, as 4 cameras writing at once puts a massive load on the memory.
