Who This Isn't For: This is USB-C only, so older mini-USB Vantrue cameras will not work with it. If you would rather not touch the fuse box at all, the VP04 OBD cable plugs straight into the OBD port with no tools. If you want a simpler fuse-tap kit with a live voltage readout and do not need a timer, look at the VP05.

  • Q: Does the timer or the voltage cut-off stop power first? → A: Whichever is reached first. When the timer expires or the set voltage is hit, the kit cuts power.
  • Q: Which Vantrue cameras are compatible? → A: USB-C models including N4S, N4 Pro S, N5S, N5, N4 Pro, N4, E1, E2, E3, S2, N2S and X4S. It will not work with older non-USB-C variants. Message us if your model is not on that list.
  • Q: Will this drain my battery? → A: Not if it is set correctly. Choose a cut-off that suits your battery's age and your climate. Higher cut-offs give more protection for older batteries.
  • Q: Is it hard to install? → A: Most confident DIYers manage it with a fuse puller and a multimeter. Red goes to constant BATT+, yellow to ACC/switched, black to a solid earth. Mount the module where you can still reach the DIP switches.
  • Q: How is this different from the VP05 and VP04? → A: The VP01 has the most control: five voltage levels plus a timer. The VP05 is a simpler fuse-tap kit with three levels and a live voltage display. The VP04 skips the fuse box entirely and plugs into the OBD port.
