Best Dash Cam for the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series: Wolfbox Mirror Cam Guide
You have set up your 70 Series the way you want it, so the last thing you want is a dash cam dangling off the mirror on rubber straps, wobbling over every corrugation. If you are after a dash cam for your Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series that records sharp footage and actually looks like it belongs in the cabin, this guide is for you. We will cover why a mirror cam suits the 70 Series, which Wolfbox model to choose, and the OEM bracket trick that ditches the straps for a factory finish.
Why a mirror dash cam suits the 70 Series
The 70 Series earns its keep. Whether you are in a 76 wagon, a 78 Troop Carrier or a 79 cab chassis, it spends time on corrugated tracks, dusty back roads and long remote runs. Two things make a mirror dash cam a great fit:
- Better rear vision. A loaded tray, a canopy, a second spare or a cabin full of gear can leave the standard mirror almost useless. A Wolfbox mirror cam replaces the rear-view mirror with a full screen fed by a rear camera, so you get a wide, clear view no matter what is behind you.
- Proof on every track. It records the road ahead and behind, with parking mode to keep watch at the campsite or the shops. For a vehicle that gets driven hard and parked in remote spots, that is real peace of mind.
The rubber strap problem, and the OEM bracket fix
Mirror cams normally strap over your existing mirror with elastic bands. On smooth tarmac that is fine. On 70 Series country, washboard tracks and speed bumps let the unit shake, which smears your footage and looks untidy in an otherwise tidy cabin.
Here is the fix. The 70 Series uses the #80-style mirror foot, and the WOLFBOX OEM Mirror Bracket bolts your camera straight to that factory mirror point. No rubber bands, no wobble. You get a rock-solid mount, sharper footage over rough ground, and a clean factory look that suits the 70 Series perfectly.

Pro Tip: Before you order, take ten seconds to check your mirror foot. The 70 Series runs the #80-style mount, but confirming it first means you get the right fit the first time. If you are unsure, send us a quick photo and we will confirm it for you.

Which Wolfbox mirror cam for your Land Cruiser 70 Series?
All three options below bolt to the same OEM bracket, so the choice comes down to how many angles you want recorded.
- Wolfbox G900 Pro (front and rear): 4K front, 2.5K rear and a big 12-inch screen. The best all-rounder for most 70 Series owners who want solid front and rear coverage.
- Wolfbox G900 TriPro (Cabin): adds an interior camera to record the cabin as well. The pick if you carry passengers, use the truck for work, or want everything covered.
- Wolfbox G900 TriPro (Bumper): swaps the cabin camera for a front bumper camera, handy for spotting obstacles, ruts and gutters on tight tracks.

Installing a mirror cam in a 70 Series
With the OEM bracket fitted, the camera bolts to the factory mirror point in minutes. From there:
- Power: plug into the 12V socket for a simple setup, or choose either a traditional hardwire kit that needs some cutting and soldering for parking mode - or a plug and play tidy OBD connector hardwire kit, both offer a clean install with no cables on show.
- Rear camera routing: run the cable down the headliner to the back of the wagon. On a 78 Troopy or 79 cab chassis with a canopy, plan the rear camera spot first, whether that is the rear glass, the canopy door or the tub. If you are running a canopy we absolutely recommend getting a longer rear-camera cable, there are 10M lengths and 15M lengths available to get all the way to the rear.
- Memory: use a high-endurance microSD card rated for dash cams. Standard cards wear out fast under constant recording, especially in the heat.
Get it sorted
The 70 Series deserves a dash cam setup that is as tough and tidy as the truck itself. A Wolfbox mirror cam on the OEM bracket gives you clear footage, full rear vision and a factory finish, no rubber straps in sight.
