Why a Switched Ignition Source Matters

Parking Mode is only useful if your dash cam knows when the car is actually parked. With a constant-power-only fuse box, the camera can't tell ignition-on from ignition-off - so Parking Mode either won't trigger properly or risks draining your battery. By giving the camera a true ACC signal, this harness lets it drop into Parking Mode properly the moment you shut the car down and walk away with the keys, then return to normal recording when you start up again.

How It Works

  • Locate the existing BYD loom that carries a switched (ignition) accessory feed.
  • Unplug it and connect the T-harness inline - factory plug on one side, your accessory feed passed straight through on the other.
  • Run the switched output to your dash cam hardwire kit or battery pack.
  • Set your camera to Parking Mode - it now arms on ignition-off and disarms on ignition-on, automatically.
