Vantrue N4 Pro User Manual & Troubleshooting Guide

Vantrue N4 Pro acting up? Lost the booklet? No stress.

Welcome to your digital backup plan. Whether your N4 Pro is beeping at you, refusing to record, or you just need to know the exact voice command to save a clip, we've got you sorted. Below you'll find the full official manual, a quick cheat sheet for those handy voice controls, and some expert tips to get your rig running sweet.

💡 Pro Tip: Unlock the 24/7 Parking Mode

Your N4 Pro has a killer "Parking Mode" feature that watches your car while you're at the shops or asleep, but it won't work with just the cigarette lighter plug. You need a constant power source.

Voice Command Cheat Sheet

The Nexus 4 (N4) Pro is smart - you can yell at it to do things so you don't have to take your hands off the wheel. Here are the specific phrases it listens for:

Voice Command Function
"Take Photo" Snaps a still image of the current view.
"Lock The Video" Saves the current clip to the "Event" folder so it isn't overwritten.
"Turn On/Off Audio" Mutes or unmutes the microphone inside the cabin.
"Turn On/Off Screen" Wakes up or sleeps the LCD display (recording continues).
"Turn On/Off Wi-Fi" Enables the Wi-Fi hotspot to connect to the Vantrue App.
"Show Front/Rear Camera" Switches the main display view between different channels.

Common Questions & Aussie Expert Fixes

  • Why is my Rear Camera showing a black screen?
This is the #1 issue we see. 99% of the time, the cable isn't plugged in all the way. The rear cam cable on the N4 Pro is tight - you need to push it until you feel a proper "click" or snap. Also, ensure you haven't mixed up the cables; the rear cam cable is specific to the rear port.

  • "SD Card Error" or "Slow Card" Warning?
The N4 Pro records 4K video, which is heavy data. If you're using an old card from a drawer, it won't keep up. You need a U3 / Class 10 / A2 MicroSD card (we recommend Vantrue High Endurance or SanDisk Max Endurance). Also, make sure to format the card inside the camera via the system menu every month to keep it fresh.

  • What do the lights mean?
Blinking Green: You're all good, mate. It's recording.
Solid Green: It's in standby (powered on but NOT recording). Check your SD card if this happens while driving!
