Wolfbox WBH40O OBD Hardwire Kit: The Ultimate Installer Guide

Wolfbox WBH40O OBD Hardwire Kit: The Ultimate Installer Guide

If you're looking to unlock parking surveillance on your WOLFBOX G900 Pro or TriPro without the headache of probing fuses, the WBH40O OBD Hardwire Kit is your best mate. It's the plug-and-play shortcut to a high-end setup, tapping directly into your vehicle's OBD II port for constant power.

Why This Kit Wins

Parking mode is now non-negotiable for many Aussies. A standard ciggie lead cuts out when you pull the key; the WBH40O keeps the G900 Pro and TriPro alive and in parking mode. It's specifically engineered to talk to the G900 TriPro's power management system, ensuring the camera doesn't just stay on, but stays smart.

The Technical Breakdown: WBH40O

  • Interface: OBD II (Direct Plug)
  • Output: 4A (heavy duty enough for the TriPro's triple-channel draw)
  • Cable Reach: 11.5 ft / 3.5m
  • Low Voltage Protection: Built-in to prevent a flat battery
  • Compatibility: Validated specifically for the G900 Pro and TriPro

Built for Parking, Not Just Juice

The WBH40O acts as the brain between your car's battery and the camera. It tells the camera when the engine is off so it can switch over to parking surveillance (Time-Lapse or Impact Detection).

The G900 Pro and TriPro Handshake

WOLFBOX is firm on this: the Pro and TriPro needs this specific kit. Mixing kits from different brands or older WOLFBOX models can lead to reboot loops or fried internal sensors. The WBH40O provides the required 4 Amps these mirror cameras need. Not sure it's the right kit for your model? Our guide to choosing the right WOLFBOX OBD hardwire kit sorts it in two minutes.

No-Tools-Required Install

For the DIYer who doesn't want to mess with the vehicle's factory wiring, the OBD method is the Goldilocks zone. Tuck the cable behind the A-pillar weatherstripping for a 100% hidden look.

Aussie Expert FAQ

Is the WBH40O definitely the OBD version?
Too right. WOLFBOX makes two versions: the Hardwire Kit (fuse taps) and the OBD Kit (this one). If you don't want to touch the fuse box, this is the one you're after.

Will it drain my battery?
It shouldn't. It features a low-voltage cutoff, and our battery drain bench test measured exactly what it pulls. If you're parking for more than 48 hours without driving, check your battery health first: the TriPro draws a fair bit of current with those three lenses.

How long is the actual cable?
3.5 metres. In a standard Dual Cab Ute or SUV that's plenty to go from the mirror, across the roof lining, down the A-pillar, and into the OBD port under the dash.
