Get Usable Rear Footage From a Ute, Van or Truck. The VIOFO T330W 2CH Is a 4K Dash Cam With a 2K Waterproof Rear Camera That Mounts Outside
Here is the catch with almost every 2-channel dash cam sold in Australia: the rear camera is built to live on the rear windscreen. Fit a canopy to your ute, load the tray to the roofline, add a heavy tint or hitch up a caravan, and that camera is filming the inside of a box. You paid for two channels and you are getting one, right up until the moment you need the second.
Trusted AU store: We're an authorised Australian reseller, shipping from Melbourne within 24 hours*. You get an 18-month warranty with no product registration required, local technical support, and our 30-Day No-Worries returns.
Who This Isn't For: If your rear windscreen is clear and stays clear, you do not need an external camera or the longer cable run that comes with it. The VIOFO A229 Pro 2CH records the same 4K front and 2K rear from inside the cabin with a much shorter install. The T330W 2CH is for utes with canopies, vans, box trucks, and anyone who tows.
Check Before You Order
Three things decide whether this camera suits your vehicle.
- Cable run: this listing is the 8m option, which ships with a 7.5m waterproof rear camera cable. That covers a dual-cab ute with a canopy. A long-wheelbase van, a box body or a prime mover usually needs the 10m or 15m option instead.
- Mounting point: the rear camera screws to a flat surface above the number plate, on a canopy or beside a roof antenna. Two screws are supplied and there is no adhesive option for it.
- Parking mode: every parking mode needs the VIOFO HK6-F hardwire kit, sold separately. The supplied car charger runs the camera while the engine is on and nothing more.
DCG Highlights
What We Love
- IP67 sealing on the rear camera, so it lives outside the vehicle where a rear window camera cannot go and survives rain, dust and mud
- Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 front and IMX675 rear, so the camera catching the plate behind you is a proper low-light sensor rather than a token 1080p afterthought
- HDR on both channels, so a plate under headlights and a plate against low winter sun both stay readable instead of blowing out
- Screenless body that tucks behind the rearview mirror, keeping it out of your sightline and out of the eyeline of anyone looking through the windscreen in a car park
- Wi-Fi 6 on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so pulling a 4K clip onto your phone at the roadside takes seconds
- Five documented parking modes including hybrid recording, which starts in time-lapse or low bitrate then drops to impact detection at your cut-off time or voltage
- Works with the VIOFO BP100 battery pack, so parked recording runs off its own power and reports its charge over Bluetooth instead of flattening your starter battery
- The CPL-700 front filter is in the box rather than an upsell, and it snaps on magnetically instead of screwing into a thread
Good to Know
- No microSD card is included. The camera takes a card up to 512 GB and VIOFO recommend their own industrial-grade cards for continuous recording.
- Parking mode of any kind needs the HK6-F hardwire kit bought separately, and cut-off voltage protection is only available through that kit.
- The front camera has no screen. Setup, playback and settings all happen through the VIOFO Dashcam App on your phone.
- The rear camera runs a coaxial cable the length of the vehicle. On a canopy or tray that means pulling trim and feeding through a grommet.
Why an Outside Rear Camera Beats a Camera on the Glass
A standard rear dash cam camera records through the rear windscreen, which means through glass, through tint and through whatever is stacked in the back. On a sedan that is fine. On a ute with a canopy, a van with a bulkhead, a box truck or a car towing a van, the rear channel is pointed at a wall, and the footage is worthless in exactly the rear-end collision it exists to document. An external camera fixes that by moving past the obstruction, usually to the number plate area or the top of the canopy. The trade-off is honest: the camera is now exposed to weather and to anyone who wants to pull on it, and the cable has to travel the length of the vehicle rather than a metre up the headlining. IP67 sealing handles the first part. The second is why the cable comes in four lengths.
Top Benefits
- Rear view that is not blocked: the IP67 rear camera mounts outside the cabin, so a canopy, a bulkhead or a loaded tray stops being the thing your rear channel films.
- Readable plates after dark: dual Sony STARVIS 2 sensors with HDR on both channels hold plate detail when headlights and streetlights are fighting each other.
- Evidence at 4K: 3840 x 2160 on the front channel, at up to 60 fps with HDR off or 30 fps with HDR on, keeps enough detail to identify a vehicle rather than just describe it.
- Parked cover without battery drain: pair it with a VIOFO battery pack and parking mode draws from that pack, with the remaining charge visible in the app and stamped on the footage.
- Harder to spot or unplug: a screenless body behind the mirror plus a tamper-resistant cover over the card slot.
- Faster clip retrieval: Wi-Fi 6 across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz moves a 4K file to your phone quickly enough that you can hand it over at the scene.
- Length to suit the vehicle: four rear cable options mean the same camera suits a dual cab, a long van or a rigid truck.
How It Installs
- Mount the front camera behind the rearview mirror and fit the magnetic CPL filter. Allow 15 minutes.
- Fix the waterproof rear camera with the two supplied screws. This step decides the job, so check the angle before you drill.
- Route the 7.5m coaxial cable forward to the front unit. Expect to remove trim panels and feed through an existing grommet. Allow 60 to 90 minutes, longer on a canopy or tray body.
- Power it from the supplied dual USB-C car charger, or fit the HK6-F hardwire kit to the fuse box for parking mode. That kit needs a reachable fuse box and a tested earth point.
- Pair to the VIOFO Dashcam App, set the time zone, and confirm both channels are recording before refitting the trim.

Right Length for Every Vehicle

Wi-Fi 6 Connectivity. Faster Transfers, Instant Downloads
Experience faster, more stable transfer with dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) Wi-Fi 6 technology. Use the VIOFO Dashcam App to preview live footage, update settings, and save videos to your phone in seconds without cables.
Multiplex Video. One Single File, Instant Sharing
Merge multiple camera feeds into a single video file for full-coverage playback. The T330 makes it easy to generate multi-perspective footage that's ready to review, export, or share instantly, with no editing required. 2-Channel Multiplex combines two camera angles into a single side-by-side video file for instant playback and effortless sharing, zero editing required.
Parking Mode: 24/7 Peace of Mind. Capture More, Consume Less
Hybrid parking starts in time-lapse, low-bitrate or event-detection recording, then switches to impact detection once your set cut-off time or battery voltage is reached. Note: to use parking mode, a VIOFO HK6-F hardwire kit is required and sold separately. Cut-off voltage is only available with the VIOFO HK6-F hardwire kit.

Battery Pack Ready. Longer Parking, Zero Battery Drain
Pair with the VIOFO BP100 or BP60 battery pack (sold separately) and parking mode runs on the battery pack's own power, for hours longer, with your vehicle battery untouched. Smart Bluetooth features keep the battery level in view: in the app and on the footage itself. Connected to the battery pack, the dash cam reads its level wirelessly and ends parking recording at the reserve you choose (5%, 8%, 10% or 15%). The reserve keeps impact detection armed, so the camera can still wake and record if the car is hit.
Instant Footage Lock. Press It, Protect It
One touch is all it takes. Alongside automatic G-sensor impact locking, the side button lets you instantly secure key moments whenever you want. Footage of road incidents, hit-and-runs, or close calls won't be overwritten easily.

Cleaner Installation, Better Protection
Protect your dash cam from unauthorized access. The tamper-resistant cover prevents unauthorized tampering or accidental disconnections while maintaining a clean, professional install.

Circular Polarizing Lens (CPL). No Glare, No Reflections
Cut through glare with ease. The snap-on magnetic front CPL filter reduces windshield reflections and road glare, delivering clear and natural-looking footage.

Bluetooth Remote Control (Optional). One Press, Safety Access
Stick the Bluetooth remote anywhere convenient to secure critical footage in one press and configure the side buttons to access your favorite features instantly. Control range: up to 5 meters.
Hands-Free Voice Control and Ultra-Precise GPS
Start recordings, lock footage or take snapshots using simple voice commands in multiple languages. Proactive voice alerts keep you informed of memory card errors or setting changes. Quad-mode satellite coverage (GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS) provides clear, reliable records of your speed, location, and timestamps on every video playback.
VIOFO High-Endurance microSD Card (Sold Separately). Built to Record, Made to Last
Don't risk dropped frames or missing evidence. Built for constant dash cam recording, VIOFO industrial-grade microSD cards ensure smooth, error-free storage on every journey. For optimal performance, we recommend using a VIOFO microSD card.

FAQ
FAQ
- Q: Can I use the waterproof rear camera as a reversing camera? A: No. It records to the memory card only and does not feed a screen, because the T330W 2CH has no display and no video output. If you want a live reversing view you still need a separate reversing camera and monitor. The rear camera here exists to record what happens behind you, not to help you park.
- Q: Is the rear camera actually waterproof or just splash resistant? A: VIOFO rate the rear camera IP67, which means sealed against dust and able to handle immersion in shallow water. In practice that covers rain, road spray, mud and a wash bay. The front camera is not weather rated and belongs inside the cabin on the windscreen.
- Q: Do I need a hardwire kit for parking mode? A: Yes. Every parking recording mode on this camera, including hybrid recording and cut-off voltage protection, needs the VIOFO HK6-F hardwire kit, which is sold separately. The supplied car charger only powers the camera while the ignition is on. The HK6-F is the only kit that works with the T330 series.
- Q: Is a memory card included, and what size should I get? A: No card is included. The camera takes a microSD card up to 512 GB and VIOFO recommend their own industrial-grade cards for constant recording. For 4K on two channels, 256 GB is the sensible starting point and 512 GB is worth it if you run parking mode continuously.
- Q: Will the 8 m cable reach on my vehicle? A: On this SKU the waterproof rear camera cable measures 7.5 m, which VIOFO list as the 8 m option. That comfortably covers a dual-cab ute with a canopy. A long-wheelbase van, a box body or a prime mover usually needs the 10 m or 15 m cable, so order that option instead.
- Q: Can I use my existing VIOFO rear camera, cable or CPL filter? A: No. The T330 series uses its own connector and its own accessories, so A129, A139, A229 and A329 rear cameras, cables, CPL filters and hardwire kits will not fit. The front CPL-700 filter you need is already in the box.
- Q: Does it work with the VIOFO BP100 battery pack? A: Yes. The T330W 2CH pairs with the BP100 and BP60 battery packs, so parking mode draws from the pack rather than your starter battery. Over Bluetooth the camera reads the pack's remaining charge, ends recording at a reserve you set, and can stamp the battery level onto the footage.
- Q: Is it worth putting a rear camera on a ute or van at all? A: It is worth it if the rear channel can actually see. Rear-end collisions and tailgating are exactly what a rear camera is for, but on a vehicle with a canopy, a bulkhead or a loaded tray a rear-window camera films the obstruction instead of the road. An external camera is the only way to get a usable rear view on those vehicles.
- Q: Do I need to tell my insurer I have fitted a dash cam? A: That depends entirely on your insurer and your policy wording, so check with them directly. A dash cam is not a vehicle modification in the mechanical sense, but some policies ask about accessories. We are not insurance advisers, so ask your insurer rather than taking our word for it.
- Q: Something is not working. Who do I talk to? A: Email us at gday@dashcamguys.com.au with your order number, the firmware version shown in the VIOFO Dashcam App, and a short description of what the camera is doing. We handle technical support locally rather than sending you offshore, and most issues turn out to be a card or a firmware version.
