VIOFO T330 Series User Manual & Setup Guide
VIOFO T330 acting up? Lost the booklet? No stress.
The T330 has no screen, so everything from aiming the lens to downloading a clip happens through the buttons, little LEDs and the VIOFO Dashcam app on your phone. That's brilliant once it's set up, and a bit baffling when it isn't. This guide covers every T330 we sell (2CH, 3CH, T, TW, W and WW), with the button and LED cheat sheet, app pairing, parking mode and the official PDF at the bottom.
💡 Pro Tip: Parking Mode Needs the HK6-F
The car charger in the box only runs the camera while the engine is on. For any parking mode, plus Cut-off Voltage and the battery voltage stamp, the T330 needs VIOFO's HK6-F hardwire kit. The older HK4 and the A329S's HK6 are not the right kit for this camera. There's no card in the box either, and the camera won't record without one.
Grab the HK6-F Hardwire Kit here (and read our HK6-F install guide).
Which T330 Do You Have?
Every T330 uses the same screenless front camera (4K, Sony STARVIS 2). What changes is what's plugged into it. Running a T340 instead (the one with the cabin camera built into the front unit)? Use our VIOFO T340 Series guide.
| Model | Cameras | Cables in the box (our AU listing) |
|---|---|---|
| T330 2CH | 4K front + 2K rear (inside rear glass) | 6 m rear |
| T330 3CH | 4K front + 2K rear + 2K infrared fisheye cabin camera | 6 m rear, 1 m cabin |
| T330T 3CH | 4K front + 2K telephoto (4x optical) + 2K rear | 1 m telephoto, 6 m rear |
| T330TW 3CH | 4K front + 2K telephoto + 2K waterproof exterior rear | 1 m telephoto, 7.5 m waterproof ("8 m" option) |
| T330W 2CH | 4K front + 2K waterproof exterior rear | 7.5 m waterproof |
| T330W 3CH | 4K front + 2K waterproof exterior rear + 2K infrared fisheye cabin camera | 7.5 m waterproof, 1 m cabin |
| T330WW 3CH | 4K front + two 2K waterproof exterior cameras | 2 x 7.5 m waterproof |
Port rule of thumb: the front unit has an INT port and a REAR port. The telephoto camera must go in INT on its 1 m cable. The waterproof camera cable works in either port. Always power the camera off before plugging or unplugging a camera.
First-Time Setup
- Insert the card. Slide a microSD card (up to 512 GB) into the side slot until it clicks. Format it before first use, either in the app (Settings > Format) or by holding the Custom button until all the LEDs blink three times (formatting is the button's default long-press action).
- Mount the front camera behind the rear-view mirror, inside the wiper sweep. Clean the glass, use a static sticker if you want to move it later, then clip the magnetic CPL-700 filter on (line up the white marks).
- Fit the other cameras for your model (see table above) and route cables behind the trim, well clear of airbags. Waterproof rear cameras fix outside with the 3M pad or screws.
- Power it up. Plug the car charger into the USB-C power port and a 12V/24V socket, or wire in the HK6-F. The camera starts recording when the engine starts.
- Pair the app. Short press the Wi-Fi button (the Wi-Fi LED starts flashing). On your phone, join 5G_VIOFO_T330_XXXX, password 12345678. The LED goes solid blue once connected. Open the VIOFO Dashcam app, tap Add Dash Cam and pick your model.
- Aim the lenses with the grid in the app's live view, then set Time Zone (Australian users, don't forget Daylight Saving Time), Speed Unit to km/h, and Frequency to 50 Hz.
- Fit the tamper-resistant cover last, with all cables connected, using the four screws and hex key.

No screen means the camera also talks: voice notifications (Off / On / Only Critical Alerts) warn you about things like "Memory card error, please format the card." Voice control works in English with commands such as "Take Photo", "Video Start", "Lock the Video", "Turn On Wi-Fi" and "Turn Off Audio". Both are switched in the app's System Settings. The front LEDs can also be dimmed to REC-only or all off, separately for driving and parking.
Recording & Parking Modes
Loop recording starts automatically (1 to 10 minute clips). The G-sensor or the Video Protect button locks a clip into \DCIM\Movie\RO, and locked files can use up to 30% of the card before the oldest ones are overwritten. 60 fps options only show up on two-channel setups with HDR off; with three channels running it's 4K + 2K + 2K.
With the HK6-F fitted there are five parking modes: Hybrid Parking Recording (time-lapse, low bitrate or event detection, then drops to impact detection at your Cut-off Time, Cut-off Voltage or battery pack capacity), Low Power Impact Detection (wakes in about 2 seconds, records 1 minute), Low Bitrate, Auto Event Detection and Time-lapse (1/2/3/5/10 fps, with Super Night Vision at 1 fps). Hybrid mode only switches on once you set a cut-off. Geofencing lets you set up to three zones (like your garage) where the camera powers off instead of watching. If you'd rather leave the car battery alone entirely, the BP100 or BP60 battery pack can run parking mode instead.
Firmware Updates
- Check your current version in the app (Settings > Version Number > Firmware).
- Download the latest T330 firmware from VIOFO's Firmware & Manual page at viofo.com.
- Format the card in the camera, copy the .bin file to the root of the card without renaming it, then power the camera on with the card inserted.
- Do not unplug or turn off the camera while it updates. Settings may go back to defaults afterwards, so re-check parking mode and time zone.
Compatible Accessories
- VIOFO HK6-F hardwire kit for parking mode (install guide)
- VIOFO BTR200 Bluetooth remote: hold its lock button for 3 seconds to pair. Solid blue means paired (BTR200 guide)
- VIOFO CPL-600 for the rear or telephoto camera (the CPL-700 front filter is already in the box)
- BP100 / BP60 battery packs
Common Questions & Troubleshooting
The REC light is flashing red. What's wrong?
Flashing red means it isn't recording, and nine times out of ten it's the card. Format it in the app. If it keeps happening, swap to a high-endurance card, because three channels of 4K and 2K will wear out a cheap one fast.
My phone won't stay connected to the camera's Wi-Fi.
The camera has no internet, so some phones drop it and jump back to mobile data. When your phone asks, choose to stay connected, and pause any VPN. Try switching the camera's Wi-Fi Frequency between 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz in System Settings. VIOFO recommends 5 GHz. Stay within about 10 m of the car.
A camera isn't showing up in the app.
Power the camera off, re-seat the cable, and check the port. The telephoto only works in INT. Then check that camera isn't switched off in Video Settings (Rear Cam, Interior Cam, Front Tele Cam or Exterior Cam can each be set to Off, On, driving only or parking only).
Parking mode won't turn on, or there's no voltage stamp.
You need the HK6-F. A car charger or other kit won't give you Cut-off Voltage or the Vehicle Voltage Value stamp. If you've just swapped to a different HK6-F, reset the camera to defaults (Settings > Reset Camera Settings) so it pairs with the new kit.
The cabin footage is black and white.
That's the infrared LEDs doing their job in the dark. Set Infrared LED to Auto (not On) and it'll switch back to colour when there's enough light.
The camera froze. How do I restart it?
Use the reboot pinhole on the side of the front unit. If settings are the problem, use Reset Camera Settings in the app.
