Why Low Power Parking Mode Matters

Most dash cam parking modes keep the camera running while the car is off. That is great for catching a car park bump, but it draws a steady current, so a voltage or time cut-off has to stop it before the starter battery gets too low. After that, the car is unwatched until you come back.

Low Power Impact Detection on the A329S works differently. The camera sits in standby with the G-sensor still armed, then wakes within about 2 seconds of an impact and records a one-minute clip. Because standby draws far less than recording, the camera can keep guard for much longer on the same battery. The trade-off is those first seconds: standby cannot record the moment before the hit, which is why Hybrid Parking Mode exists. It records normally for a set time or down to a set voltage, then drops to low power impact detection for the rest of the night.

How Does the A329S 2CH Install?

1. Stick the front camera and GPS mount behind the rear-view mirror and tuck the power lead into the headlining with the trim tool in the box.
2. Run the rear camera cable along the headlining to the rear window and fix the rear camera to the glass.
3. Power it from the 12V socket with the included dual USB-C car charger, or hardwire it with the HK6 kit for the full set of parking modes.
4. Insert and format a microSD card, connect an SSD if you are using one, then pair the VIOFO app to set the time, GPS and parking options.

The plug-in route needs nothing beyond the trim tool. Hardwiring means finding a switched and a constant fuse, and a circuit tester makes that far easier.
