Truck, Van & 24V Dash Cams

A truck dash cam has a harder job than one in a sedan. The cab sits higher, the rear camera is a long way from the windscreen, the electrical system is often 24V, and the footage might end up in front of an insurer, a fleet manager or a court. Every camera on this page is one we would put in a truck, van or work ute.

What to Look For in a Truck Dash Cam

• 24V compatibility: most of these cameras run on low-voltage USB power, so what matters is the hardwire kit between the camera and the truck. Most of the kits we stock accept both 12V and 24V systems, and the heavy rigid pack comes set up for both. Check the hardwire kit's product page against your vehicle before you buy.
• A rear camera that can reach: on a truck or van the rear camera usually lives outside, on the back of the body. Look for an IP67 waterproof rear camera and a long cable. Several models here ship with 8m rear cables.
• Telephoto zoom: from a high cab, a wide front lens shows a lot of bonnet and sky. A telephoto lens with optical zoom reads number plates further down the road, which is why we stock telephoto models like the VIOFO A329T and the screenless T330T.
• A cabin camera: for fleets and couriers, an infrared cabin lens records what happens inside the cab as well as on the road.

Rigid Trucks, Vans and Fleets

For a single rigid truck, start with the Heavy Rigid Essential pack, which pairs a telephoto front camera with a large card and 12V and 24V power.
