Shop Vantrue dash cams in Australia. Vantrue's strength is channel count: it builds more 3-channel and 4-channel cameras than most brands, which is why it turns up in rideshare cars, family cars and work vehicles that need the cabin or a second rear view recorded. We are an authorised Australian stockist, so every camera here is Australian stock with an 18-month warranty behind it.
New to the naming? Vantrue runs four main families. Element (E) is the compact line, Sonnet (S) is front and rear, Nexus (N) is multi-channel, and E360 is the 360-degree line. Alongside them sit the Falcon F1 for motorbikes and the Pilot 2 thermal system. Our guide, Which Vantrue Dash Cam Should You Buy in Australia?, compares every model we stock and explains the naming in plain English.

Channel, resolution and sensor figures are Vantrue's own published specifications as recorded in our product data, checked 11 September 2026. They are manufacturer claims. Where a cell reads "not specified", no sensor part number is recorded for that model and we have not substituted one. We have not run controlled side-by-side testing of these cameras and we have not published our own plate-readability or night-performance measurements. Position in the range is our own read of where each model sits, not a Vantrue classification. Every Vantrue camera we sell carries an 18-month warranty, with no product registration required.
Two things worth knowing before you choose
Sensors are not uniform across the range. Most current Vantrue cameras use a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, but not all of them do. The E2 uses the older STARVIS IMX335, Vantrue names a Sony STARVIS sensor on the E2 Pro without giving a part number, and no sensor is specified for the E1 Lite. If low-light performance is the deciding factor, that distinction matters more than the resolution on the box.
The 360-degree models are not all one unit. The E360 covers the road and the cabin from a single body on the windscreen. The E360 ACE and E360 Plus add a separate rear camera, so they are a three-channel install with a cable to run, not a one-unit fit.
Which Vantrue dash cam is right for you?
- Front only. The E1 Lite for something small and straightforward, or the E1 Pro if you want 4K in the same compact body.
- Front and rear. The S1 Pro to start, the E2 Pro for 4K up front, or the S1 Pro Max for 4K at both ends.
- Rideshare. The N2X if you only need the road and the cabin, or the N4 Pro if you want the rear as well.
- Utes, vans and 4WDs. The N4 Pro S, whose IP67 rear camera can mount outside the vehicle, or the N4S for the same idea with 2.7K up front.
- Maximum coverage. The N5 or N5S record four channels at once, including a second cabin view for the back seat.
- Fewest cameras on the glass. The E360 covers road and cabin from one unit.
- Motorbikes. The F1 records 4K front and 1080p rear from IP67 cameras, with GPS built in.
- Seeing in the dark. The Pilot 2 adds a thermal camera to three recording channels, or the thermal-only Pilot 2 gives you heat vision on its own.
Vantrue dash cam FAQs
Is Vantrue a good dashcam brand?
Vantrue's clearest strength is multi-channel recording, and its current cameras mostly use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors. We sell the brand, so read that as retailer advice rather than an independent verdict. If your priority is a single front camera rather than three or four channels, other brands in our range are worth comparing before you commit.
Is Vantrue a Chinese company?
Vantrue cameras are manufactured in China. For an Australian buyer the more useful question is usually where the warranty sits and who handles a claim. The cameras we sell are Australian stock, carry an 18-month warranty, and claims come back through us rather than going offshore.
Does Vantrue require a subscription?
No. Every Vantrue camera we stock records to a microSD card, and you view or download footage over Wi-Fi in the Vantrue app or by reading the card on a computer. There is no subscription to record, store or retrieve your own footage.
Does Vantrue automatically delete recordings?
Yes, by design. Vantrue cameras loop-record, so once the card fills, the oldest unlocked clip is overwritten by the newest. Files locked by the G-sensor during an impact, or locked manually, are protected from that cycle. If you need to keep a clip, copy it off the card, because a locked file still occupies space until you clear it.
Do Vantrue dash cams come with an Australian warranty?
Yes. Every Vantrue camera we sell carries an 18-month warranty and we handle claims locally. Keep your order confirmation, and if something goes wrong, call us on 1800 CAM GUY (1800 226 489) or email gday@dashcamguys.com.au.
Can I install a Vantrue dash cam myself?
Most drivers can fit the camera and the 12V adaptor themselves. A three or four-channel install is more work, because there are more cables to hide. Parking mode needs constant power from a hardwire kit. We do not install cameras ourselves, but we keep a directory of independent installers if you would rather not do it.

The Dash Cam Guys sells every camera on this page, so read this as a retailer's guide to its own range rather than an independent survey of the Australian market. No brand paid for, sponsored or supplied anything for this page. We buy the cameras we review out of our own stock, the same stock we sell. We have not published controlled measurements of plate readability or night performance for the cameras named here.
